How savings are verified

Baseline, versioned prices, shadow test and bill match.

Baseline

A saving would be the gap between your own baseline and your spend on the same work. The baseline is the cost of the route before the change, priced on the same price version. An audit figure is an estimate. It is never verified and never billed.

Versioned prices

Prices are never overwritten. A ledger line records the price version used for both sides, so the saving can be checked later when list prices move.

Shadow test

Right-size, cascade, trimming, output control, fine-tune and a cross-provider switch change quality. Those savings are not realised until a shadow test you configured has passed. The test id is stored on the ledger line. Speech-to-text would be scored with word error rate. Embeddings would use cosine similarity and retrieval overlap. Speech, image and video would use a similarity check. A media model is not called. Human review would run only if you opt in. Voice and audio would need their own opt-in. The replay would be priced before it starts and would stop at the cap you set. It would go only to a provider you have connected and left enabled. None of that replay is running.

Bill match

Checking a saving against a provider bill is Planned. A realised saving would become verified only when the month’s ledger cost is within 2% of that bill. Outside that, the month would be disputed and would not be billed. That check is not built.

Savings statuses

A ledger line is one of these five statuses. Only a verified line can be billed.

  • estimated. Projected from a shadow test. Shown, and never billed.
  • realised. Measured after the switch, before the provider bill is matched.
  • verified. Realised, and the month’s ledger cost is within the bill-match tolerance.
  • disputed. The ledger is outside the bill-match tolerance. Shown, and not billed.
  • reversed. Shown for the audit trail. Not billed.

What gets billed

Only verified lines are billed. verifiedAt is set only after the bill match, when the ledger cost is within 2% of the provider bill. An open month is not billed, and a disputed month is not billed.

The fee is 15% of verified savings from each switch, for 12 months after it goes live. After that the saving drops off the fee. There is no spend-band platform fee. The fee is capped at 5% of the pre-change AI spend of the workloads we optimise (measured in your free X-ray). If we don't save you more than we charge, you pay nothing that month. That sentence is the monthly savings share only. It does not apply to the subscription.
